Comfort and Strength

This morning, I checked facebook, and directly next to each other on my news feed, were two posts from different friends reminding me of both the tenderness and the strength in God's grace.

One friend posted a quote a from St. Theresa of Avila:
Do not pray for a lighter burden; pray for a stronger back.

My other friend wrote:
When life seems overwhelming first thing in the morning,
I'm grateful for the Lord's tender words "It's ok, it's ok"

I need both these reminders.

             Continually.

And whether I like it or not, I usually need them at the same time.

I am grateful for my friends who have reminded me once again about the call to allow the grace of God to rejuvenate and revive that which is weakened and susceptible to the waves that overwhelm.

The reminder to live and trust in His grace which sustains.

And the call to humbly accept and deeply receive that grace.

May you too, find comfort and strength this day.

The Lord will guide you continually,
and satisfy your needs in parched places,
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters never fail.
(Isaiah 58:11)
